After the legendary Carrozzeria Touring closed in 1968, Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to entrust the manufacturing of the next model (becoming known as the “Islero” by former Touring collaborator Mario Marazzi).

But life was difficult for the simply designed Islero, flanked by the spectacular Miura; production ceased after 225 models were manufactured, of which the last 70 were released in 1969 with some body modifications and luxurious interiors in the Islero S version.
